Leaving a gift in your Will is a very special way to support North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. By doing so you can leave a lasting legacy that will help patients, staff, visitors and the wider community for years to come.
Your support can help support the purchase of advanced medical equipment, improved patient services or the refurbishing of facilities and wards, which make a lasting difference to your local hospital.
Our charitable status (Registered charity number: 1057682) can help reduce the inheritance tax your loved ones have to pay.
You can find more information about the tax benefits of leaving a legacy to a cause you care about on the Money Advice Service website.

What is a legacy gift?
A legacy is a gift, whether monetary or otherwise, that someone can choose to leave to a charity in their will.
The most common legacy gifts are:
- A cash gift (Pecuniary gift) – a gift of a specific sum of money
- A percentage of your estate (Residuary gift) – This is a percentage of all your estate following the payment of tax, expenses and the distribution of other bequests
- An item (Specific gift) – any specific non-monetary items such as valuables or artwork
