From 1st April 2025, County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust will become the new provider of the NHS Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service for County Durham. This follows a planned transition from the current provider, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust (NTHFT), ensuring a smooth and safe handover of services.
A thorough procurement process took place in 2024 to select a new provider, ensuring that children and families continue to receive the same high-quality care. The service will still be provided by the same dedicated teams and professionals, ensuring minimal change for patients and families.
While most services will continue as usual, there may be some minor adjustments to the locations where therapy is delivered. Any changes will be clearly communicated with patients and families well in advance to ensure a smooth transition.
