When you have a test done by your bedside or in your GP surgery this is called point of care testing.
This also happens in the hospital to monitor diabetes, breathing and urine infections. Staff from the point of care team help to make sure that the results are right by providing instructions, help with quality and making sure that the results are kept in the patient record.
