Blood transfusion is responsible for providing blood for transfusion in emergencies and for routine treatment of various conditions.
It also performs ante and post natal screening for disorders that may need lifelong treatment.

The North Tees Blood Transfusion Department is a UKAS accredited medical laboratory (No. 7896) to the ISO 15189 standards for medical laboratories.
Our accreditation is limited to those activities described on our UKAS schedule of accreditation.
