Our #NHSBehindTheScenes social media campaign focuses on the rarely-seen but essential parts of hospital life clinical staff depend upon as they care for patients.
The campaign shines a spotlight on the little known services North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust relies on.
The posts on the Trust’s Facebook page alone have reached some 46,000 people.
So far highlighting the work of the medical equipment library, security team, post room, mattress decontamination service, knowledge and information service and laundry.
Feedback
The campaign has been a huge hit with the public prompting dozens of messages of support, including:
“Unsung heroes”
“They all do a brilliant job”
“Well deserved recognition, we should be very grateful for the hard work they all do”
“Fantastic Team”
Barbara Bright, director for corporate affairs and chief of staff, said: “Throughout the entire COVID-19 pandemic, the NHS has been at the forefront of people’s thoughts. We’ve received countless message of goodwill. Most of this has understandably been centred on clinical staff.
“But without our army of support services and corporate staff, the hospital simply couldn’t function.
“The NHS Behind the Scenes campaign is a simple and effective way to showcase our colleagues who don’t often get to be in the limelight. They might be ‘hidden’, but they matter.”
Debbie Elliot who featured in a post highlighting the work of the knowledge and information service which operates a library resource for staff, said: “It’s nice to have some recognition.
“No one comes to work for the praise. But we do sometimes feel that not many people understand what we do. The Behind the Scenes posts have changed that and we’ve been really chuffed with some of the lovely comments people have said about us.”
The Trust’s #NHSBehindTheScenes campaign will continue to shine a light on the Trust’s supporting services in the coming months.
