An accountancy firm has supported efforts to help patients stay in touch with their loved ones, with a donation towards purchasing iPads for virtual visits through the Linking Loved Ones programme.
SGP Accountants Limited visited last week to hand over a generous £6,500 to the Trusts patient experience team, to use for purchasing equipment to support in ensuring family can keep in touch with loved ones who may be in hospital.
One of the company’s Directors Jonathan Beckerlegge, FCCA visited the University Hospital of North Tees to present the cheque to Patient Experience colleagues Louise Parkin, Charlotte Pett and Erin Duckers.
Jonathan, whose company has one of its offices based in Stockton, said: “It’s a cause we have been wanting to support for some months now, but have only just been able to formally pass on our donation to the Trust.
“I think for everyone, the ability to be able to contact our loved ones in hospital is vital. Being able to support this cause by donating towards making sure virtual visiting is possible both now and in the future, was something myself and everyone on the company board were very passionate to support.”
SGP Accountants Director Ahmed Al Zaiter approved the donation, as part of an initiative to support a number of local organisations in recent months, such as neighbouring South Tees’ Hospitals Charity.
Erin Duckers, Patient Experience Team Lead said: “On behalf of the trust, I’d just like to share how overwhelmed and grateful we are for SGP Accountants generous donation. We really appreciate the support and know that the money will be really beneficial in keeping families in touch with one another.”
