This virtual expert witness training event offers a multi-disciplinary case-based approach to providing expert evidence in cases of suspected child abuse.
You will gain and cement an understanding of the input various experts provide to the judge that allow them to make a judgement.
This event is hosted by the Family Justice Council in association with North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.

It is particularly relevant to all clinicians of all subspecialties in the field of child protection who are providing or who might be interested in providing expert opinion to His Majesty’s courts in cases of suspected child abuse. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Paediatricians
- Paediatric radiologists
- Psychologists
- Ophthalmologists
- Geneticists
It is also relevant to legal practitioners who handle, or are interested in handling, cases of suspected child abuse in the family and criminal courts.
