We’d like to share an update of the under-construction £4.2m robotic and emergency maternity theatre at the University Hospital of North Tees.
Robotic theatre matron Sarah Waite joined site manager Tony Smith (employed by contractor Geoffrey Robinson Limited) and NTH Solutions’ project manager Jordan Pearson for a tour of the site to see how it’s talking shape.
The support structure and flooring is now in place, spanning the former courtyard across the first floor. In the coming weeks and months the roof and walls will be built, before the interiors will be constructed and then the high-tech equipment will be installed. The theatres are expected to begin accepting patients in spring 2025.
The trust asks all visitors to the hospital to follow the instructions on any signage and only cross the road near the construction site at the correct crossing points.
