We welcome the announcement today that people who took part in the trials of Novavax vaccines which have not yet been approved yet will be offered doses of another vaccine from next week.
A spokesperson for the Trust said: “This is welcome news for everyone involved in the Novavax trial.
“We understand this has been a concerning time for all of our participants. Now we have this guidance that participants can receive an approved vaccine, this is very good news.
“The uncertainty of the last few months has been a challenge – but we want to thank all of the participants involved and reflect on the part they have all played.
“This trial has helped us learn so much about how we protect people against COVID-19.
“We have so much data and information we are using to help us learn more and deepen our knowledge.
“Thank you again to everyone affected for their patience and understanding.”
Contact will be made with all participants shortly to support next steps.
