We are asking visitors coming into hospital for treatment to leave their details, as part of new track and trace national safety measures around coronavirus.
From Thursday, we are asking anyone coming for an appointment to help us track and trace cases of Covid. We ask you to please:
- Download the NHS COVID-19 app
- Scan a QR barcode
- Provide some key information
North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust will display the codes in all main waiting rooms, coffee shops and restaurants, at its sites at the University Hospital of North Tees, University Hospital of Hartlepool and Peterlee Community Hospital.
To help support patients without access to a mobile or tablet device, the Trust will also be able to provide a paper option to complete.
Members of the volunteering team will also be on hand in waiting areas to help any patients who need advice and support.
Julie Lane is chief nurse and director of patient safety and quality. She said: “From Thursday, the new NHS COVID-19 app will be launched and rolled out in NHS organisations across the country.
“We are asking that anyone visiting our buildings for an appointment scans the relevant barcode and provide their information.
“The more we trace individual cases, the more we are all collectively able to stop the spread of COVID-19 and protect ourselves and our loved ones. This system will help slow the spread of the virus and significantly reduce its impact on our day to day lives.”
Visitors will be able to find the barcodes in all main waiting areas in the Trust’s hospital buildings.
