Are you looking to complete a T level qualification and want to complete an industry work placement at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust?
What are T levels?
T Levels are a new, two-year Level 3 qualification for 16 to 19 year olds.
They have been designed alongside employers and each T level is equivalent to 3 A levels. This qualification helps young people develop the knowledge, attitude and practical skills to progress into skilled employment, an apprenticeship or further study.
Every T level student is required to complete an industry work placement (IWP) which lasts a minimum of 315 hours or approximately 45 days. This provides young people with an invaluable opportunity to put their learning, knowledge and skills into practice in a real workplace environment and add value to the organisation.
From an employer perspective, industry work placements provide a unique opportunity to develop new talent and helps young people become work ready.
Some of the key benefits to employers are;
Attract motivated young people who bring imaginative and fresh ideas
Improve future interest in the organisation as a place to work
Support local and national skill gaps within the industry
Support with the development of the wider community
An opportunity to nurture future talent and provide opportunities to grow our own workforce for the future

T levels at the Trust
The Trust is currently working with local colleges including The Education Training Collective (Stockton Riverside College and Bede College in Billingham), Hartlepool College of Further Education and Hartlepool Sixth Form College, to provide a number of placements for students on the T level health pathway.
We are currently working with our local colleges to look at opportunities to support T Level students across other pathways – including science and digital.
How to apply for a T Level industry work placement
T Level placements cannot be applied for directly with the Trust.
Students must speak to their courses tutor and/or placements coordinator at their college, for advice regarding current placement opportunities within the Trust.
