Clinical services at University Hospitals Tees are grouped into 10 clinical service units to provide integrated care delivery across our hospitals and communities.
Each care group is led by a service director – each with either a head or associate director of operations, a head or associate director of nursing, alongside clinicians and supporting senior managers.
Clinical service units (CSU)
- Family health services
Our family health services include paediatrics, gynaecology and reproductive medicine, neonatal and maternity.
- Digestive health, urology and general surgery services
Our digestive health, urology and general surgery services also include breast and endocrine surgery, upper GI, Lower GI, endoscopy and gastroenterology.
- Trauma and orthopaedics, reconstructive and plastic surgery, ear nose and throat (ENT) and oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS), dermatology and ophthalmology services
- Theatres, anaesthetics and critical care services
Our theatres, anaesthetics and critical care services includes peri-operative medicine, critical care, surgical hubs, general theatres and anaesthetics, specialist theatres and anaesthetics.
- Cardiovascular service
Our cardiovascular service includes vascular surgery, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, cardiac anaesthetics and critical care.
- Cancer institute
Our cancer institute CSU includes haematology, medical physics and oncology and radiotherapy.
- Clinical support services
Our clinical support services includes pathology, radiology, microbiology, blood sciences, pharmacy and cellular pathology.
- General and emergency medical services
Our general and emergency CSU includes acute medicine, emergency medicine, urgent treatment centres, diabetes and endocrinology, renal medicine, infectious diseases and medical microbiology and respiratory medicine.
- Neuroscience services
Our neuroscience services includes neurology, stroke, neurosurgery and spinal surgery, neurorehabilitation and spinal cord injury.
- Community and neighbourhood health services
Our community and neighbourhood CSU includes hospital at home, elderly care, rheumatology and musculoskeletal services and palliative care.
