Our team of highly trained consultants, specialist nurses and psychologists support patients who have ongoing chronic pain or acute pain following surgery.
The team, based in our outpatient clinics in Stockton, Hartlepool and Peterlee, will carry out treatments and give you advice and support.
We use different treatments to take care of and manage chronic and long term pain to help improve your quality of life, including:
- acupuncture
- transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) to help reduce pain and muscle spasms
- recommended medications
- nerve blocks
- injections, including those for back pain
We will consult with you at all times and you will be fully involved in your own care.
Making a referral
You will be referred to us by your GP who should make their referrals through Choose and Book.
In hospital
Our team may see you in hospital if you have had an operation and you have been given pain relief through a vein or in your back through an epidural. They will help to manage your pain and speed up your recovery.
Outpatient clinics
We see new patients and review patients in our clinics. Sometimes you may not need to come to a clinic and we will speak to you on the phone.
