Having a child is wonderful, but it can be daunting. We will make sure you know what help is available to you from the birth of your child right up to the age of four.
We are here to give you support, discuss any concerns you might have and offer you advice.
If you need help, we can tell you where to find it and we can put you in touch with groups where you can meet other parents.
We offer you a dedicated appointment with your health visitor:
- within 14 days following the birth of your child
When your child is:
- six to eight weeks
- nine to 12 months
- two years
As well as these set appointments, you can call your health visitor any time you feel you need some extra support.
You will be referred to our service by the child health team or your midwife. We do not offer a self-referral service.
