Seeing your GP

You may have gone to see your GP to talk to them about feeling unwell.

They may want you to see a doctor at the hospital.

You may then be given or sent a letter.

Choose and book letter

You get a letter at home from your doctor to use choose and book.

You can make an appointment at a time that is best for your and your carer or supporter.

How to book an appointment

You can

  • Book your appointment on the internet
  • Telephone the NHS e-Referral service to make an appointment

Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm

Weekend and bank holidays, 8am to 4pm.

If you or someone you know cannot do this, staff at your GP practice can help.

You should get a letter from the hospital telling you what day and time you have to go to the hospital.
