A range of activities are being arranged for staff over the course of the year – as part of an initiative to offer health and wellbeing support.
North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust have organised events as part of an improvement project they are calling ‘NTH Motivate’.
Helen Waller, health and wellbeing advisor, has been part of the group – who have collectively organised activities including a five-a-side football tournament ahead of Euro 2024, walking challenges, a range of fitness classes in Stockton and Hartlepool and a workplace weight management programme.
Helen said: “As part of our project, the proposal for the weight management programme was in direct response to the staff survey results – and we were fortunate enough to obtain funding from the growing occupational health programme the Trust is involved in. This allowed us to provide a good range of initiatives and exercise classes at an affordable cost.
“The connection between exercise, healthy living and good wellbeing are well known and we know what we should be doing but this programme will hopefully encourage staff in the right direction.
“I would encourage staff to have a look at what we have arranged and please give something a try if you can, you won’t regret it. If anyone has any questions about anything at all, I am available to chat.”
