A local healthcare leader is encouraging local people to make their voice heard as part of a nationwide consultation into the future of the NHS.
The Change NHS online portal is now open for members of the public, as well as NHS staff and health experts, to share their experiences, views and ideas for improving the NHS.
Once in a generation opportunity
Stacey Hunter, group chief executive for University Hospitals Tees which comprises North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is appealing for local people to make their voices heard.
Stacey said: “This consultation will feed into the government’s 10-Year Health Plan.
“It’s vital that the views of people in the Tees Valley and wider region are heard and represented in the plan which will have huge implications for the future of health care throughout the country.
“It’s your chance to tell the government what works well for you and your family, and what you wouldn’t want to lose. It’s also an opportunity to explain any frustrations you may have experienced and how you think things could be improved. You might even have seen services outside of the NHS that you think would be incorporated into the health service.
“It’s a once in a generation opportunity to let the government know about your experience of the NHS and your ideas to make it even better and I urge everyone to get involved and let government know your opinions.”
