A new 24-hour food service has been set up for hospital workers in Teesside – as part of the Trust’s efforts to help clinical teams.
The service at the University Hospital of North Tees will run on weekdays from 10pm to 6am, as a way of helping those staff working overnight.
The hospital, run as part of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, already has a comprehensive daytime restaurant service.
Deepak Dwarakanath, medical director, said: “The dedicated care our staff provide to our patients is not a 9 to 5 service. We are a busy hospital site, providing first class care to patients, 24-hours a day.
“We know from feedback from these staff that an overnight food service would be very beneficial.
“Our fantastic catering team will always do what they can to act on feedback and to help our staff – so I am delighted we are able to offer these extended overnight service.”
The service will include sandwiches, paninis and toasties as well as warm food like jacket potatoes and soup.
