Upcoming Armed Forces events taking place across our University Hospitals Tees sites.
Armed Forces coffee mornings
Our veteran and armed forces working group have launched free armed forces coffee mornings which are open to all members of the armed forces community and their families.
They are an opportunity to build a local network, find out more about support available in the local area and also to shape how our hospital group can support the armed forces community going forward.
The events are also open to staff across University Hospitals Tees who have served or who are currently serving.

Remembrance Day 2025
Special flag raising ceremonies will be held at the flagpoles in honour of Remembrance Day on Monday 3 November in the following locations:
- University Hospital of North Tees
- University Hospital of Hartlepool
- The James Cook University Hospital
- Friarage Hospital
Community Remembrance events
On Sunday 9 November, colleagues from University Hospitals Tees will attend remembrance events within each of the five local authority areas:
- Hartlepool
- North Yorkshire
- Middlesbrough
- Stockton
- Redcar and Cleveland
A representative will lay a wreath on behalf of University Hospitals Tees to show respect for those who have fallen.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
Armistice Day ceremonies
Special acts of remembrance will be held on Tuesday 11 November at 10:40am to coincide with the national two-minute silence. They will be held in our hospitals in the following locations:
- University Hospital of North Tees, spirituality centre
- University Hospital of Hartlepool, spirituality centre
- The James Cook University Hospital, chapel
- Friarage Hospital, chapel
A short sermon will be delivered by our chaplaincy teams before continuing to observe the two-minute silence at 11am. Wreaths will be laid at the ceremony each site on behalf of University Hospitals Tees.
