Families touched by the loss of a baby are welcome to attend a special baby loss memorial service at the University Hospital of North Tees.
The service will take place on Thursday 15 October at 6.45pm in the oasis spirituality centre and chapel.
Hosted by the hospital’s chaplaincy team, it will include readings, prayers, reflection and an opportunity to light a candle and join in the national ‘wave of light’, as part of baby loss awareness week.

Lead chaplain, reverend Jim Wright, said: “We shall also take this opportunity to commission our new baby memorial space within the chapel – a space dedicated to help us remember our little ones lost too soon.
“We would like to invite anyone affected by the loss of a baby to join us, along with family and friends.
“After the service, refreshments will be available and there will be an opportunity to view the baby loss memorial book, chat to the chaplains or with other families, should you wish to do so.
“We look forward to sharing this special time together with anyone who comes, to remember those whom we know are precious to you.”
