Our children and young people’s elective investigation unit has 10 beds.
An experienced team of doctors, nurses, health care assistants and hospital play specialists provide high quality care on the unit.
Parents and carers are encouraged to stay with their child throughout their time on the unit. We have made sure that everything we do helps to make time on the unit as comfortable as possible for our young patients and their families.
Your child will only stay on this unit for a short period of time. With this in mind, we ask that no more than two people accompany them.
The unit is open Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm.
Accessing the unit
For the safety of our patients, the children and young people’s elective investigation unit has a locked entrance and access is via an intercom system.
On arrival, please press the door buzzer and you will be given access by one of the staff.
You will also need to press the buzzer when you leave the unit. Please ensure when leaving the ward that you do not give access to someone you do not know by holding the door open for them.
