A local business has joined efforts to help fight the global coronavirus pandemic by making a donation of personal protective equipment.
Pts Demolition and Dismantling visited this week to hand over 400 over-suits and 50 face masks for use on patients suspected of having conditions such as COVID-19.
Though the trust has no shortage of protective equipment, the supplies will be stored and used as and when they are needed over the coming weeks.
The company’s managing director Dave Gauja visited the University Hospital of North Tees on Thursday to present the goods to the trust’s infection, prevention and control nurse specialist Debra Jenkins.
Dave, who runs the company in Shildon in County Durham, said: “I not only feel it’s important we all do all we can to help the NHS during the pandemic – but I also have personal reasons I want to help the trust.
“It was here where my mum was cared over the new year period before she passed away. I also have other family members treated here and who have had such positive experiences.
“To everyone at the trust – keep up the great work and stay safe.”
Debra said: “On behalf of the trust I would like to thank Dave and the company for thinking of us at this challenging time. We really appreciate the support of everyone who has reached out to us.”
