Extended Scope Physiotherapist

I am an Extended Scope Physiotherapist working in Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic Upper Limb clinics. My job role is the assessment and management of patients with musculoskeletal conditions including upper limb specific orthopaedic patients.

Qualifications

I qualified in 1991 in Newcastle with a BSc in Physiotherapy with Combined Studies and have spent the majority of my career in Musculoskeletal physiotherapy. I have a Diploma in Injection Therapy (2003), Independent and Supplementary Prescribing qualification (2016) and a range of post graduate qualifications and courses in physiotherapy including acupuncture and shoulder rehabilitation.

Work experience

I have worked in the Trust since April 2000 and have worked with upper limb orthopaedics specifically since March 2015. I have also spent 12 seasons with a local rugby team providing physiotherapy assessment and treatment skills to players as well as being involved with female regional rugby team and have a special interest in sports injuries and upper limb conditions.
