Medical rehabilitation day unit (MRDU)
Our caring teams of doctors, nurses, therapy and support staff will look after you in our medical rehabilitation day units at the University Hospital of North Tees and the University Hospital of Hartlepool.
The modern units provide patients with various clinics:
- TIA clinics if you have suffered a transient ischaemic attack (mini stroke)
- falls clinics
- Parkinson’s disease clinics
- general medical ward discharges
- physiotherapy and occupational therapy
- blood transfusions
- vitamin D infusion for bone problems
We could not have had better treatment – I’m so grateful to all of the staff. You should be very proud of your service.
We will listen to you and make you feel comfortable to put you at ease during your appointment.
We work with other departments to arrange tests if you need them, such as scans, blood tests and cardiology (heart) tests. We will explain exactly what you’re having done and what the test is about. One of our doctors will speak to you once we have your results.
You will be referred to us by your GP, our accident and emergency department, the falls team or a hospital ward.
We run our clinics from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm
