Friends and family
We are asking patients who have used any of our A&E, inpatient, outpatient or community services whether or not they would recommend the hospital to their friends and family.
The national initiative called the Friends and Family Test asks patients how likely are you to recommend our service to friends and family if they need care or treatment?
We want to hear your comments if you have been either:
- A patient who has stayed at least one night at either the University Hospital of North Tees or the University Hospital of Hartlepool
- A patient who has attended accident and emergency and left without being admitted to a hospital ward or transferred to a medical assessment unit and then discharged
- A patient who has attended an outpatients department or who has received care from a North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Trust community based service
Following your attendance at the Trust, you will receive a text message asking you to complete a short questionnaire. Alternatively while in hospital, you can request a paper version of the Friends and Family Questionnaire from a member of staff.
This is an opportunity for us to find out what patients think of the care they receive. We review all the feedback and celebrate what were doing well and build on that or quickly identify any areas for improvement.
We already gather patient feedback in a number of other ways to help us continually improve our services, but the Friends and Family Test helps us to improve even further. It is another way for the trust to gain feedback from patients to make sure that we provide the best patient experience we possibly can.
