NHS staff and patients have responded en masse to an appeal to help members of its community in such trying times.
The organisation has been appealing to staff to think about individuals and families in urgent need of basic supplies in such a challenging time for so many.
And staff and patients have reacted in huge numbers – leaving masses of goods including food, toiletries, nappies, Christmas puddings and gifts for children as well as so much more.
These are delivered from various collection points across the organisation by the trust’s team of volunteer drivers.
“Christmas is such a challenging time for so many families and individuals, particularly after the difficult year we have had.
“Our community reached out to us this year in our time of need, so it’s our turn to reach out to them.
“Thank you to all staff who have responded so magnificently to the appeal, as well as to our fantastic team of volunteer drivers who we couldn’t have done it without.”
