Physiotherapist Caroline Fernandes-James has been invited to present her research at a conference of physicians.
She will present the research she received a masters in into the uptake of pulmonary rehabilitation in patients admitted to hospital with an acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD).
The talk will involve a 10 minute presentation followed by a five minute discussion.
Caroline, who is a clinical specialist physiotherapist for COPD, said: “I am honoured to be the first author the committee has accepted to speak.
“As a physiotherapist and new researcher it is positive to be welcomed to this meeting.
“To discuss the research findings and to understand the complex challenges that chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is presenting in the context of pulmonary rehabilitation is key to improving clinical care.
“This process and the widening network is improving my patient care.
“I am really looking forward to meeting and talking people with so many people with such a vast knowledge about COPD –it can only help me in my work.
“I’d like to thank my colleagues for all of their support.”
