Launch of new nurse recruitment centres

The trust held its first ever nurse recruitment centre event recently.

It was an opportunity for nurses looking for a new role to meet and talk to staff at the trust in a more informal setting than they would have at an official interview.

The day, held at the Norton barracks of the 201 Field Hospital army reserves, included sessions in medicines management, group scenarios and mini one to one interviews.

The trust also carried out any HR and ID checks with all of the nurses and has information about specific areas they would like to work in.

Emma Roberts, assistant director of nursing, workforce and professional standards, said: “I’d like to thank of all the nurses who came along to our first recruitment centre event.

“As part of this new process, the trust has a generic application form for nurses.

“Nurses will only have one interview in the trust in one of our recruitment centres to ensure they are given the best possible opportunity to develop in their nursing career.
