Grateful patient makes donation to breast cancer care

A woman who has been treated for breast cancer has added another £450 to the thousands of pounds she has raised for breast care at the trust over the last 12 years.

Janet Bilton and her husband Eric visited outpatients at the University Hospital of Hartlepool to visit consultant Pud Bhaskar and the team.

Janet and her friends and family raised the funds through a raffle at a special line dancing event they held in Carlisle.

Janet was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and was treated by staff in Hartlepool.

Janet said: “All of the staff who have cared for me over the years have been nothing short of fantastic.

The team have always been there for me and this is our way of giving something back to them.

Mr Bhaskar said: “I would like to personally thank Janet and Eric and their friends and family for everything they have done raising so much money over the years.

“We really appreciate it because money like this makes a difference to the care we can give to patients.”
