Two members of staff have gone above and beyond in their work to help progress life saving research trials.
Anna Napora and Alex Ramshaw have been named the trust’s latest Research Stars.
Alex, a research nurse, has been involved in projects across a number of areas including neonatal, paediatrics, stroke and respiratory.
Beth Pickering, who nominated her, said: “She goes the extra mile with her studies asking the team on the ward to call her at home, even if it is the middle of the night if there is a potential patient for one of her harder to recruit to studies. Alex is a team player and always has a positive attitude.”
Anna, a research data assistant, provides support to to gastroenterology, hepatology, cardiology and diabetes research staff.
Pauline Shepherd, who nominated her, said: “Anna can always be relied upon to provide comprehensive, accurate support to all research delivery staff she works with.
“She is an enthusiastic, supportive, knowledgeable, hard- working member of the research and development team.
“Whenever Anna is requested to complete a piece of work she does so quickly and reliably, whether this is something that has been brought forward for early processing or a new piece of work.
“Nothing is too much trouble and is completed in a timely manner.”
Alex and Anna were presented with certificates by interim clinical director of research and development Justin Carter.
