THE trust’s finance team picked up a cluster of awards and recognition at an annual regional conference.
Three members of the team were presented with crystal trophies and several more were shortlisted at the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Northern branch event at the Ramside Hall Hotel in Durham.
Caroline Trevena received a special chairman award, accountant of the year went to Julie Davey and Debbie Johnson was presented with student of the year.
The financial management team and management accountant Emma Dawson were also shortlisted for prizes.
Kevin Scollay, the trust’s deputy director of finance, said: “We are very proud to have been so well recognised and I would like to congratulate everyone who won or who was shortlisted.
“The HFMA conference is an annual meeting of the best and brightest NHS financial minds in the region. In this context, it is a fantastic achievement for the trust to win two of the five awards going, as well as several nominations.
“I’d also like to congratulate Caroline Trevena who was deservedly presented with a special award from branch chairman David Chandler for her outstanding work.
“Every NHS trust is working under greater financial challenges than ever before but events like show the fantastic work every organisation is involved in.”
The theme of this year’s branch meeting was sustainability and transformation plans (STPs): setting the pace which included presentations from the trust’s accountable officer Alan Foster and chief information and technology officer Graham Evans.
