TWO scientists from the trust have been invited to an international conference to highlight the team’s award winning research projects.
The trust’s Quality Control Laboratory entered three posters into a competition the NHS Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance and Technical Services Symposium in Chester, summarising research they have carried out.
The team was delighted to pick up first and second prize for two of these presentations.
As a result, Microbiology Test Technician Courtney Smith and Lead Environmental Technician Lauren Hill have been invited to present the work at the European GERPAC (Group of Evaluation and Research for Protection in Areas under Control) conference in Toulon, France, in October.
Courtney will present the team’s work which has compared common trends of microorganisms while Lauren will present about whether the team should be using faster flow rate particle counters.
Wayne Goddard, Quality Control Laboratory Manager said: “To scoop both first and second prize is a real achievement and a sign of how hard everyone involved has worked.
“Both Courtney and Lauren are looking forward to having the opportunity to speak at such a prestigious event and share good practice with colleagues from across Europe.”
