Accident and emergency performance

We know it can be stressful coming to accident and emergency and we want to ensure you wait the least time possible while being treated compassionately and safely.

Around 200 patients attend accident and emergency and our minor injuries unit every day from people with minor injuries to people with major, life-threatening illnesses and injuries.

On average the percentage of patients seen, treated, admitted to hospital and or discharged are:

  • 25% in less than an hour
  • 50% in less than two hours
  • 75% in less than three hours

We are measured and monitored on many things. These measures are designed to ensure you are seen as quickly and safely as possible.

The four hour target

We are expected to see, treat, admit or discharge 95% of our patients from accident and emergency or minor injuries within four hours. We are one of the best performing organisations and we usually meet or exceed this target.

Friends and family

Of the 20% of our patients who expressed an opinion 90% said they were highly likely to recommend our services to their friend and family.
