How can you help us?
Many people are concerned about healthcare associated infection. The trust is working hard to reduce the risk of avoidable infection to a minimum. You and your visitors can help us by following our top ten tips:

Use alcohol hand rub or wash your hands when entering or leaving a ward and before and after contact with a patient

Contact a nurse if another patient needs assistance

Do not sit on patients beds

Do not touch and wounds or medical equipment

Do not visit if you are unwell or have an infection

Don’t visit wearing dirty work clothing

Don’t bring in food that needs reheating
-
Inform us if toilets or other areas don’t look clean

Keep the top of your locker and bed table clear of clutter so they are easy to clean

Ask staff if their hands are clean before they care for you
