Support group


There is a support group for patients which meets at 6.30pm on the first Tuesday in the month in the assisted reproduction unit. This group is also open to anyone contemplating IVF.

The agony of not being able to conceive can be a desperate and distressing time for couples wanting a baby.

If you are wanting to start a family, but are having trouble becoming pregnant, the most modern and state of the art assisted reproduction unit at the University Hospital of Hartlepool can offer hope.

The unit has two medical consultants and one associate specialist and uses some of the most advanced fertility techniques in the world to help bring joy to couples.

The medical team is supported by two embryologists who have more than 30 years experience between them and a dedicated and highly qualified nursing team.

The unit also has a specialist fertility counsellor who was one of the first in the country to qualify in this area of expertise.
